We're a company, a team, and a family...

The Makery is a Sydney-based creative agency specialising in branding and online marketing. Quality art and web development is at the core of everything we make.

A team comprised of designers, tech wizards, and all-round creative thinkers; we have pretty much worked together all our lives.

The Makery was officially founded in 2009 by siblings, Rob, Michelle and Mimmette with her husband Jason. Collectively, their experience covers a wide range of clients from various industries.

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Formal training in journalism makes me the wordsmith in the team. As a grammar nerd who loves making lists, organising things and telling everybody else what to do, I may sound a tad boring, but my preoccupation with Gantt charts and taxation is proof that I'm living on the edge.

DESIGN LEAD

I wanted to be a pro surfer but I'm like a monkey in the water. Luckily, I'm a good illustrator and became a graphic designer with a pretty good variety of creative gigs for respectable clients ranging from animation to coding. When I'm not pushing around pixels and bezier curves though, you can still find me somewhere along the east coast of Oz looking like shark bait.

MICHELLE

CREATIVE HEAD

Pina Coladas make me nauseous and I hate that wet sock feeling when I get caught in the rain, but I do like the perfect marriage between function and aesthetics. Between you and me, my secret to producing good design is a meticulous eye for balance . . . and the Dirty Dancing soundtrack on full volume to get me in the mood.

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR

Resident code monkey here. Back in my day (circa 1992) I learned how to programme on a Commodore VIC20, which had less RAM than a wristwatch. Python and SQL manuals are located next to my Noam Chomsky books in our home library.
